Never-ending stairway in NY

Soon, our lovely city won’t be the same!

New projects are coming! High Line at the Rail Yards will soon be home to a new artwork thanks to Hudson Yards. This triumph of culture, commerce and cuisine will comprise a 150-ft tall installation with a garden nearby.

The developers are planning to provide new gathering and meeting spaces for New Yorkers and for tourists. It will cover more than 5 acres, made up of plazas, gardens and groves. Hudson Yards are planning to make it “the largest network of public spaces developed in Manhattan since Central Park.”

As Thomas Heatherwick, founder of Heatherwick Studio, says the concept was inspired by a discarded flight of wooden stairs he found on a building site during his student days. When completed in 2025, 125,000 people a day will work in, visit, or call Hudson Yards their home.

What will be there?

The site will include more than 17 million square feet of commercial and residential space, state-of-the-art office towers, more than 100 shops including New York’s first Neiman Marcus, and a collection of restaurants curated by Chef Thomas Keller.

The urban development will include approximately 4,000 residences, The Shed, a new center for artistic invention, 14 acres of public open space, a 750-seat public school and an Equinox branded luxury hotel with more than 200 rooms—all offering unparalleled amenities for residents, employees and guests.

The development of Hudson Yards will create more than 23,000 construction jobs. Hope we’ll get this perfect neighborhood, which will be one of the main NY sightseeing for sure!
